"I’m encouraging young people to
become social business entrepreneurs and contribute to the world,
rather than just making money. Making money is no fun. Contributing
to and changing the world is a lot more fun." — Muhammad
Yunus
A social entrepreneur is a new term
changing the face of careers all over the world. Social
entrepreneurs devote their life's work to creating innovative
solutions to the world's most pressing social issues. Rather than
leaving societal needs to the government or business sectors,
social entrepreneurs find what is not working and start changing
the system, spreading the solution, and persuading entire societies
to take new leaps. Social entrepreneurs present ideas that are
user-friendly, understandable, ethical, and that bring about
widespread support in order to increase the number of local people
that will want to stand up, seize the idea, and begin
implementation. We live in a global world that is changing
constantly, we need innovative thinkers to help solve the problems
of today, and create a more peaceful, sustainable place for all of
us to live.
"With the shifting economy and
the local and global social problems our generations are facing, I
think people are turning to community over consumerism, willing to
band together to solve these social problems. I hear people's
visions on how to solve these problems everyday, it is inspiring!
I'm devoted to helping make these visions possible in our
community." —Beth Wendt
