Mission

Charleston Peace One Day is a non-profit organization working to bring intercultural cooperation and non-violence to South Carolina through educational and community events. South Carolina has been ranked the most violent state in the U.S. for 2007/2008. CP1D is working to decrease violence by implementing the following:

  • Develop a culture of peace, intercultural cooperation, and non-violence through education, action, art, and other community building efforts.
  • Network all businesses, organizations, and citizens that work toward building a community structure that supports peace, non-violence and intercultural cooperation in the Charleston and surrounding area.
  • Create education curriculum as a supplemental tool for educators.
  • Raise local and global awareness of the International Day of Peace through a citywide festival or state-wide peace initiatives that is inclusive of art, music, sport, and education.
